Jesus told us, his disciples, to make disciples of all nations. Therefore our mission includes,  Exalting Christ through the Word: Teaching and making disciples for Christ –Matthew 28:18-20 .  One of the most important values of the First Baptist Church of Suitland is our vision “that all the world might see him.”  Serving begins in our own community, and spreads to every nation. The First Baptist Church of Suitland members are involved in a variety of ministries from Outreach, Education, Missions and more.

Outreach Ministry

Our Outreach-Evangelism team is very active in spreading the Word of God throughout our community. Events include monthly prayer walks, acts of kindness, distribution of Bibles and literature about special services throughout the Suitland and Forestville community. Our annual events are Kite Flying, Community Day, and the Harvest Time Celebration (which is an alternative for “trick or treat” night. We also sponsor a Back-to-School supply drive to ensure that our children and those in the community are equipped with the proper tools to begin the school year. In keeping with Scripture, our church believes that reaching the lost is one of our primary tasks.  We support Southern Baptist missionaries who serve at home and abroad through the Cooperative program.  Members of the church have gone on mission trips to Nicaragua, Charleston, SC., Malta, and Jamaica to help spread the gospel and minister to the needs of the people visited.  Leader – Willie Dowtin
